BC rural communities are struggling to cope with dramatic growth and change and they need to learn how to encourage and lead collaboration between groups with different interests.
That’s one of the key conclusions reached in a study entitled ‘Coping with Growth and Change: The State of Leadership in Rural BC’ conducted by the Centre for Innovative and Entrepreneurial Leadership (CIEL) based in Nelson, B.C. The study surveyed 42 rural communities across British Columbia with populations of less than 20,000 who were applying to participate in a leadership development pilot program.
