CIEL draws on its experience, expertise in analysis, and range of innovative and customized tools to produce accurate assessments for communities and organizations. Each tool is selected for the appropriate context. Our tools are applied according to the specific need of the community at the time. If your community wants to better understand barriers and opportunities around a thriving business environment, CIEL can help assess the relevant factors and attitudes in your community. CIEL also provides facilitation services that bring an “outside perspective”, enabling communities to break out of paralyzing internal dynamics to address issues and move forward. Our skills facilitators can provide a range of services from strategic planning to asset mapping to opportunity identification services.
Customized Tools
In 2004, the Government of Canada asked CIEL to pilot the Business Vitality Initiative with the Nisga’a Nation, a leader in innovation among Canada’s First Nations. CIEL’s Team, relying on research, consultation with Nisga’a communities, and previous experience in Aboriginal Community Economic Development, was able to develop a modified tool and process ideal for the situation.
